We are always looking for bright and motivated students interested in theoretical computer science! The theory group admit graduate students as a group. If you are interested in pursuing a PhD in theoretical CS, we encourage you to apply to the PhD program at Northwestern University. Please mention Theory as your primary interest in your application, and list the theory faculty that are closest to your interests.

The best consideration deadline for PhD applicants is Thursday, December 1, 2025 (for Fall 2026), although you can still apply after this deadline, up to December 15, 2025. Most of the decisions are typically finalized by the end of March, but some decisions may be made as late as April 15.
